Neighborhood Resources

Neighborhoods are the heartbeat of a community. Whether it's sharing stories over a backyard fence or meeting at the mailbox, friendly neighbors can make a new residents feel at home quicker than anything else.

To promote neighborhood gatherings, the Kansas City Neighborhood Alliance offers $100 grants to groups willing to organize a block party. Those funds can be used to help offset the cost for purchasing food. These grants are only available in Johnson County. They are sponsored by the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation and the Kansas City neighborhood Alliance. Click here to view and print information about this grant program. (243 kb pdf)

The Neighborhood Network  -- Kansas City's most complete Neighborhood based Web site.  Here you will find information about specific neighborhoods in the Kansas City area, resources, and links to information that can help you be a more effective participant in your neighborhood.
